MCC Weekly Library Sessions

Are you interested in volunteering at our Weekly Library visits to the Boole Library? As part of these visits, you would be handling an MCC Dog with the full support of a My Canine Companion staff member/qualified volunteer handler. The days for these visits, also known as ‘Paws and Pages’, will rotate during the academic year but will always be held from 11am-1pm in the Boole Library. You will be required to attend MCC Handling classes, with an MCC Instructor, before supporting these visits. Everyone is welcome to come along to ‘Paws and Pages’ visits.

MCC PAWS @ UCC Buddy Programme

In keeping with aim of the PAWS programme to promote academic wellbeing and support (PAWS) on campus. There is opportunity to be matched with an MCC dog and UCC staff handler and join the MCC dog bubble or group. This would give you time with a MCC dog on campus as well as representing the PAWS programme on campus by attending booked activities and events known as ‘Pawsome Moments’. You will be required to complete handling classes with our MCC Instructor and adhere to the MCC PAWS @ UCC code of conduct before you can fulfil this role independently.

MCC Fundraising events

Are you interested in helping MCC Fundraising Events? We have some exciting events and would love your help. These would be general fundraising events for the charity e.g. Bucket collections, Bag packs, etc. or awareness and education events e.g. school or corporate visits to create public awareness about the charity. You will be fully supported by a member of the MCC staff/Volunteer team. Whether it is spreading the word around campus or supporting events external to UCC, you will be required to complete MCC Handling, with an MCC Instructor, if you would like to handle a dog at any event
