An incredible toddler put his stamina to the test recently, casting aside his buggy and teddy bear to walk 85.8km around Swords in aid of autism charity, My Canine Companion.
Two-and-a-half-year-old Callum Geddes set out on his virtual two-marathon walk from his home at Swords Manor at the start of July, still making it home each evening for supper and a bedtime story.
Callum’s mum MeganRose, explains: ‘We came across the charity when we were on lockdown.
‘Basically, it costs €10,000 to train the dogs for children with autism, so we just came across it through Instagram and decided to do it because we were doing a lot of walking anyway.
‘When lockdown came, Callum started to refuse to get into his buggy, and I said he’d actually do a lot of walking in the month, so we decided to give it a try and pledged for him to reach 50km but he got to 85.8 in his 30 days.’
